After the user has performed a Claim Search, the search results will display below; the number of results will display in the bottom left corner. Users can take the following actions on the Payments screen:
1. | Select the number of claims to View by clicking the drop-down at the top right corner of the screen. |
| Note: The system is defaulted to display 25 results. |
2. | Click on any one of the blue heading links to sort by that heading. |
3. | Scroll the cursor over the icon to view Payment Details for that patient. |
4. | Hover mouse pointer over the Unapplied Credit icon to view unapplied credit record for that patient. Click this icon to modify, delete, or refund the transactions. |
• | indicates unapplied credit is yet to be posted or refunded for patient account. |
• | indicates unapplied credit is refunded and balance is zero for patient account. |
Users can quickly access different screens within the system by clicking on the following underlined information within the claim:
• | Claim # – New Charge screen; allows user to access additional charge details |
| Note: Users can return to the Payments screen by clicking the icon located at the top left corner of any screen. |
• | Patient Name – Patient Demographics screen |
• | Responsibility – Insurance tab of the Patient Demographics |
• | Charge/Balance – Financials tab of the Patient Demographics; allows users to view patient ledger |
Any claim with a “+” next to it indicates that the claim has had a payment posted to it. Click the “+” to open a list of all manually posted payments for that claim.
Posted payments listed here for the claim may include the following: patient payment, insurance payment, credit adjustment, or patient copay.
The following icons on the Payments screen indicate where the payment was posted from:

Posted payments can be modified, deleted, or refunded from this window. Please refer to the sections of the manual below for additional information regarding functionality.
Collect online payment from patient having no claim: You can collect online payment from patient who do not have claims generated in the system. If the online payment feature is enabled for your practice, you will see the “Pay Now” button in the Search Claim tab of the Payments screen. The amount collected from the patient will be saved as Unapplied Credits in the system. You can also generate the payment receipt for this transaction.
