Patient Statement Functionality

Patient statements are an easy-to-read breakdown of outstanding patient balances, helping to facilitate faster reimbursement.

Practice users can click the patient name to view patient financial ledger. Hover the cursor over the INSYNC~1_img430 icon located next to the patient listing to view the statement summary. If a patient has Financial Notes listed, the user can click to open the View Notes window. Users can also hover over the patient’s name and select whether to view Primary Contact or Patient Financial information by clicking the icons.

Users can select in the “On Hold” check box to exclude a previously sent patient statement from showing up in aging reports (e.g., patient has unique financial circumstances, is out of the country, etc.). Select the check box and click “Hold/Unhold” to put the statement on hold; select the check box again and click the same button to remove the hold.

The clip0088 displayed next to patient name indicates that one or more important notes are added for that patient. Click the clip0089icon to view the important notes.

Patient name mentioned with '(P)' indicates that this is a primary patient of the family.

Users can click the “Export Patient Outstanding” button to generate the Patient Statement Outstanding Report in the form of Excel file. Select the necessary search criteria options and click the “Export Patient Outstanding” button to generate and export the report based on search criteria.

Users can configure the credit card options by selecting the appropriate check boxes (Visa, Master Card, American Express, and Discover) for "Payment Type". Based on the selections, the credit card options will be displayed on the patient statement.

Select the following check boxes to indicate additional statement preferences:

“Include Reason Code/Description” - instructs the system to include any adjustment/reason codes from the Payment Posting screen on the printed patient statement
“Print Payment Comments” - includes any comments from the Notes section of the Payment Posting screen on the printed patient statement

System displays primary family members with blank line item details, if primary family member;

• has 0 balance and any other family member has balance due to the practice,

• does not satisfy the search conditions whereas other family members satisfy the search conditions (when generating Family Statement Type).

• has been selected the Exclude from Patient Statement check box on the Patient Information screen.

When working with Family Statement Type, if primary member is put on hold, then all respective family members are also considered to be put on hold.

When working with Individual Statement Type, if primary member is put on hold and you search the same patient's family using Family Statement Type, only the other family members’ statements that are not on hold are printed / previewed.

Family Due($) = Sum of each family member's balance - Sum of each family member's Unapplied Credit ($).

In the Family Statement Type, when user selects other family members without primary family member, system prints these statements at the end in the alphabetical order.

Family Statements can be printed but cannot be transmitted.

Balance amount should not be less than or equal to 0.
